Parade
Oxford Pride Parade returns to the streets for the first time since 2019. The global pandemic stopped us from marching, so now is the time to be visible, and be together.
Meet at Radcliffe Square from 11am. If you are in a large group, please register. On Pride Day, registered groups sign-in at the Rainbow Bus at Radcliffe Square. There will be an accessible area at the rear of the Rainbow Bus to wait before the March begins. The route is 1 mile and mainly on the road. The Parade/March leaves at 12 noon.
Event
As the March passes the Rainbow Crossing there are many areas to explore around the expanded Pride Day event:
- County Hall family-friendly chill area is a welcoming space to take a break from the crowds, have a chat with volunteers and enjoy a range of activities such as face painting, creative play, badge making, tarot card reading. There will also be tea & coffee and biscuits, gender-neutral dressing area, and accessible toilets.
- Family Zone with shady grass and giant games (sponsored by Carter Jonas), access via New Road by the Castle Mound (Oxford Castle & Prison).
- Castle Square for information and market stalls and leads to the Castle Quarter Stage.
- Paradise Street leading to food and drinks, more stalls, accessible toilets and Castle Quarter Stage with live acts from 12pm-6pm. Paradise Street has music all day and DJs from 4pm-10pm.
- Paradise Square Garden is perfectly located between both stages to sit and chill in the leafy courtyard.
- Westgate Leiden Square for the Jamie Cameron Community Stage and community stalls from 12pm- 6pm.
Accessibility
The event site includes many open spaces with a mix of entertainment, community and market stalls, family zone and chillout. There will be accessible viewing areas in front of the stages at Castle Quarter and Leiden Square for wheelchair users and their companions. County Hall will have a ramp over the rainbow stairs leading into the hall. Accessible toilets are located in County Hall and the Castle Quarter by the food and drinks, at the Family Zone, and Leiden Square by Old Greyfriars St. County Hall provides a chillout space for those needing space from the crowded market stalls and stages where free refreshments are provided.

Jamie Cameron Community Stage Lineup

In 2019 Leiden Square in the Westgate became the location for our Community Stage, reviving a previous tradition of Oxford Pride, and proving popular with both Pride attendees and shoppers. Charities, community groups as well as local and national organisations were invited to have stalls in this space, allowing many people access to information and advice in a safe location. As Oxford Pride approaches its 20th anniversary next year, one of our greatest supporters and a former director will not be with us to celebrate this momentous event, following his sudden death last year. To honour his contribution to Pride we are naming this area the Jamie Cameron Community Stage.
We hope his friends and family will join us in celebrating the memory of someone special who truly understood the meaning of community.
