Oxford Pride Needs You
Oxford Pride cannot run without the help from its volunteers. Each year we require people to help us ensure the running of the event goes smoothly. Whether you have previous event management experience or new to it all we would love to hear from you.
Even if you cannot make it to the actual day there may be something you can do to help; there are numerous fundraising events held prior to Pride which will always need volunteers.
If you wish to volunteer for Pride you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will automatically add you to the volunteers mailing list to ensure you’re kept up to date with all the latest news and exciting opportunities.
Oxford Pride Events
These are located at venues in the Oxfordshire area, and offer a variety of activities ranging from film nights, picnics or even a museum tour. Dates for these events will be confirmed throughout the year, and help is always appreciated. If you have your own ideas on possible fundraising events please let as know!
These events take place during the Pride Festival, and are organised by Oxford Pride as well as our community organisations and partners. Volunteers are often needed to attend the events as well as to help provide information about Oxford Pride to attendees.
The parade itself is taking place on Saturday June 2nd 2018. Volunteers are required to staff the meeting points as well as provide a general Oxford Pride presence from mid-morning until the parade commences. Volunteers will assist the Parade Coordinator in assembling and escorting the parade safely and effectively through the city to the festival grounds.
The Pride Festival is the largest and most heavily staffed event at Oxford Pride, it would be impossible to even reach this point without the help of our volunteers, let alone manage on the day! Volunteer roles will include:
- Helping with set-up
- Collecting donations
- Assisting committee members
- Providing information to attendees
- Packing up after the event
Volunteers will be assigned to shifts, and no-one will be expected to work for the entire day. Each volunteer will be provided with a schedule for their shift at a meeting held before the event.
Oxford Pride is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people and give back to the community.
It is our aim to take the utmost care of our volunteers, creating a social environment where everyone is welcome as part of the team as without you it would prove to be impossible.
